2020 Painting

 Hi all

I haven't used this blog for sometime, so I feel it is time to update. 2020 has been a very eventful year and we have all had challenges in someway or another. I don't need to name them all, as they have been self evident. We have all coped in different ways. I have thrown myself into my art because art has always given me a much needed positive focus. I had already set up many artistic events in 2019 for 2020, so it was natural for me to follow through on the plans that I had mad where I was able to safely do this. Some things got postponed because of Covid 19, but not all.

I had been working on a research project visiting contemporary ink brushwork artists in Singapore, China and Japan in 2019 and I had to postpone the Talks I was going to give about these artists at both NERAM (New England Art Museum) and Tamworth Art Gallery. However, I have been very happy about going ahead in Sept/Oct 2020 with a large exhibition of my artworks at the Gunnedah Bicentennial Art Gallery.  I shared this exhibition with the talented encaustic artist Hayley Ward. I was very pleased with the enthusiastic response to our artworks at the exhibition opening, and following the exhibition.

I am also looking forward to a small exhibition of my works at 126 Gallery in Armidale TBA.

This painting from the 'The Space Between' exhibition is titled 'Mystery 2' 2020 Sumi-e Ink & archival ink on rice paper 35.5 X 48 X 1.5cm
